How good it is to be back and building again. I hope my brief respite from my schoolwork will allow me much time for building, not that I am completely free from the law. I blog elsewhere, but it's far more boring and less creative that building with bricks.
That said, feast your eyes upon one of my latest creations, for there are more. I had a bit of a kick one night that I just got around to photographing. One of the things I love best about the Chima line is that the minifigures are just so wonderfully detailed and I've been wanting to use them ever since I got my first one. So here we have one of the wolves (the cheap one that came in one of the polybags) taking a bit of a respite under a hidden nook. It's not the greatest thing in the world, but it's pure and wonderful and I like the way I made the tree curve.
I am not entirely satisfied with how this one turned out, but I am happy nonetheless. I originally wanted to have tree roots coming down and blocking the wolf from view but I didn't have the connector pieces I wanted to use in the right color and teal and lime green just didn't seem right for this piece. I settled for the grass pieces to hide him. In the future, I would like to experiment more with irregular plates to develop more meaningful landscapes. What I have right now is simplistic but it is layered 4 high in some places which is an improvement from my usual flat 1.
All in all, a success. Good to be back.
