Witch Doctor Will See You Now

I'm packing up all my LEGO in preparation for a move. I had totally forgotten about this guy. I made him over a year ago. He's pretty spiffy though. One day I will have a scene for him, probably something zombie related. Stay tuned.

What a Nut

While falling asleep one night I had the most beautiful idea for an acorn and absolutely no idea for a squirrel. So now I have an ugly squirrel and a beautiful acorn. Oh well.

The Shooting Range

This isn't the first time I have done an execution build. I once had a very nice guillotine on an old Flickr account. I'm not sure why this came to me. I suppose I have always been a bit fascinated by methods of execution and it has been the subject of some of my collegiate studies. I'm not sure how that translates into LEGO builds though.

I did try this with the execution squad present but it looked awful and detracted from the scene. I think as presented, it is much more powerful with the lone condemned.

Scrap Model

Just a little bit of table scrap that Yetinoises put together with from a Ninjago set. That beautiful gold : )

Meet Steve

So waaaaaay back when I posted a picture of this guy when I had run out of the right colors. Well I improvised. Now he's wearing a creeper shirt and it looks nifty. I had this guy as my skin in game for a while too.

Frisky Pandas

The title should really be 'Frisky Panda.' I personally am not a fan of real pandas. When bamboo is more important to you than procreation, well, I guess you've made your choice. That said, I am a big fan of the panda minifigure. It just got stuck in the LEGO Movie somewhere inconspicuously, but it stood out in the line of Collectible Minifigures for the movie. It's one of the only collectible minifigures I own two of, and I intend to put them to good use.

I'm not really sure where the idea for this MOC came from. I guess it is just from the random panda knowledge I know, like that female pandas ovulate only once a year and even then only for 2-3 days. Even then, they're notoriously hard to breed.

This whole thing is kind of random. Just enjoy it.

Good to be Back - Wolf's Den

How good it is to be back and building again. I hope my brief respite from my schoolwork will allow me much time for building, not that I am completely free from the law. I blog elsewhere, but it's far more boring and less creative that building with bricks.

That said, feast your eyes upon one of my latest creations, for there are more. I had a bit of a kick one night that I just got around to photographing. One of the things I love best about the Chima line is that the minifigures are just so wonderfully detailed and I've been wanting to use them ever since I got my first one. So here we have one of the wolves (the cheap one that came in one of the polybags) taking a bit of a  respite under a hidden nook. It's not the greatest thing in the world, but it's pure and wonderful and I like the way I made the tree curve.

I am not entirely satisfied with how this one turned out, but I am happy nonetheless. I originally wanted to have tree roots coming down and blocking the wolf from view but I didn't have the connector pieces I wanted to use in the right color and teal and lime green just didn't seem right for this piece. I settled for the grass pieces to hide him. In the future, I would like to experiment more with irregular plates to develop more meaningful landscapes. What I have right now is simplistic but it is layered 4 high in some places which is an improvement from my usual flat 1.

All in all, a success. Good to be back.
